What can you do to increase the life of your pump?
While many out of water issues are pump related, there are other less obvious possibilities to consider. Other out of water, low water volume or low pressure possibilities in the home can range from a broken or crushed pipe, an improperly adjusted or failed pressure switch, to a deteriorated bladder tank or incorrect bladder tank air pressure. Likewise, these same issues can cause the sprinkler system to fail to come on or to work ineffectively.
Be sure your pump is sitting on a solid level surface up out of the water. A pump cover is recommended to keep it out of the rain and direct sunlight. Keep the surrounding area free of leaves and debris and allow room for proper ventilation.
Ask our office or your technician to sign you up for an annual pump and tank checkup to lessen the chance of being caught off guard by untimely water issues.
